Pristiq (desvenlafaxine) is a prescription medication used for treatment of major depressive disorder and symptoms of menopause, including hot flashes, night sweats, and mood swings.

1. 投与

   • Desvenlafaxine is available in 50-mg and 100-mg tablets.推奨される投与量は1日に1回50 mgです（参考文献1を参照）。

   関数

   • Desvenlafaxineは、2つの神経伝達物質、セロトニンとノルエピネフリンの再取り込みをブロックし、脳内の両方の活性レベルを増加させます（参考文献1を参照）。 Low serotonin and norepinephrine levels are associated with the development of depressive symptoms.

   相互作用

   • Desvenlafaxine should not be taken with an MAOI, since it may lead to serious and potentially fatal side effects. Caution is advised when taking desvenlafaxine with other medications that increase serotonin levels, since a serious condition called serotonin syndrome may result (See References 1).

   禁忌

   • Caution is advised when prescribing desvenlafaxine to individuals with severely impaired liver or kidney functioning, since serious side effects may result (See References 1). Desvenlafaxine may induce mania or psychotic episodes in individuals with a history of bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or another psychotic disorder.

   副作用

   • 一般的な副作用には、血圧の増加、体重増加、筋肉の剛性、不眠症、頭痛、口腔の乾燥、胃のむかつき、便秘、食欲の喪失、不安、めまい、発汗、性機能障害が含まれます（参考文献1を参照）。

   撤退

   • Cessation of desvenlafaxine, especially after long-term use, may cause withdrawal symptoms, including insomnia, anxiety, depression, diarrhea, irritability, nausea, and strange sensations resembling electric shocks (See References 1).
